Functions

of digital temperature sensors ZET 7020

Digital temperature sensor ZET 7020 is designed for measuring temperature of liquid, solid, gaseous and granular mediums, which are safe for the material of thermocouple casing. Application spheres: heat power energy, chemical and metallurgical industry.

The digital sensor is used for fast and easy temperature measurement and does not require calibration of measuring and data processing channels.

Operation principles

of digital temperature sensors ZET 7020

Measuring module ZET 7020 and a thermocouple together form a digital temperature sensor.

ZET 7020 module converts the signal received from thermocouple into temperature readings.

Particular type of thermocouple should be chosen in accordance with features of particular task (measuring range, tolerance, operational environment).

The sensors are mounted on the measured object and interface modules providing data transfer are placed inside of electrical cabinets.

ZETLAB electrical cabinet has compact dimensions if compared with available analogues. Among  ZETSENSOR modules advantages one can mention easy mounting and de-installation as well as power indication and signal transfer, which makes it easy to perform on-site system diagnostics.

Connection schemes

of digital temperature sensors ZET 7020

Connection of digital temperature sensors ZET 7020 to a PC can be implemented via USB (converter USB ↔ RS-485 ZET 7070), Ethernet or Wi-Fi (converter Ethernet/Wi-Fi ↔ RS-485 ZET 7076).

The delivery scope of interface converters includes ZETLAB Software which considerably enhances the capabilities of digital temperature sensors implementation. Measuring networks can also be connected to any system using the Modbus protocol via interface RS-485.

Measuring network construction

based on digital temperature sensor ZET 7020

Digital temperature sensors  ZET 7020 perfectly suit for designing of temperature measurement distributed systems. Since signal processing is performed at the place of measurement this considerably increases precision of measurement results. Besides, one can use inexpensive cables for data transfer. Up to 4 digital sensors can be connected to a single module ZET 7070 when using integrated power supply module of ZET 7070 and up to 60 if an external power supply unit is used.

Attention

When placing an order for a thermocouple, please, make sure that its wire length suits you, since increasing the cable length without approval from the manufacturer may affect the metrological specifications of the thermocouple.

Control

of digital temperature sensors ZET 7020

Digital temperature sensor ZET 7020 starts temperature measurement immediately after power connection and does not require any special technical maintenance. All the necessary settings are set in the course of manufacturing process and are stored in the measuring module memory. The obtained temperature readings data are transmitted via RS-485 interface and Modbus protocol.

When changing the primary transducer it is necessary to update module settings. In order to do this one has to connect module to the PC, start the software “ZETLAB – device manager” and set the parameters in the tab “Thermocouple”.
