AC Voltmeter
AC Voltmeter is used for measuring AC voltage. The software is capable of switching measurement modes (RMS or amplitude), but regardless of the selected mode the information about the current peak value is always displayed.
Description of AC Voltmeter
AC voltmeter is used for measuring AC voltage coming to the input channels of ZETLAB measuring instruments. The indicator displays the root-mean-square (RMS) (true RMS), voltage peak value and the integral level of the signal in the selected channel. It is possible to change the averaging of the displayed value (0.1; 1, or 10 s) and to select a necessary channel of the ADC module and FFT spectrum analyzer or virtual channel. The signal level can be displayed in linear (in measurement units) or logarithmic (in decibels) scale.
If the averaging time is 0.1 s, the crest factor value and RMS are correctly measured for a signal of at least 20 Hz.
If the averaging time is 1 s, the crest factor value and RMS are correctly measured for a signal of at least 2 Hz.
If the averaging time is 10 s, the crest factor value and RMS are correctly measured for a signal of at least 0.2 Hz.
As a part of the FFT spectrum analyzer, the AC voltmeter program is a measuring tool with the 0.5 % accuracy class, which allows to use it for measuring integral levels of noises and vibrations, for evaluation of meteorological characteristics of measurement circuits (a program for measuring amplitude frequency and phase-frequency characteristics).
The AC voltmeter program is a virtual measuring instrument included in the National Register of Measuring Equipment for the multichannel FFT spectrum analyzer ZET 017-U8 and portable FFT spectrum analyzers based on USB 2.0 – A19-U2 and ZET 017-U2.
To measure the signal level in the set frequency band, it is necessary to use the program Signal filtration for preliminary signal filtration. In this program, it is possible to set the cutoff frequency for lower and upper frequencies (LPF and HPF).
For long-term monitoring and recording of AC voltage values, Multichannel Recorder is used.
