Digital short-period seismometer ZET 7156-VER.1 is used for vibration velocity measurements of various structures: elevated (raised and restrictive) and underground (foundations, piles, etc).

The seismometer consists of three identical sensing elements and a measuring module integrated into a single package. The sensing elements receive low-frequency mechanical oscillations by three mutually transverse axes X, Y, Z and transform them into analog signal, while the measuring module performs digital processing of the analog signal with further transfer of the processed data via CAN 2.0 interface.

CAN measuring system synchronization mechanism allows to perform automated synchronization of ZET 7156-VER.1 seismometers with a precision up to 10 microseconds (synchronization is possible regardless of the measuring line length and the sensors amount).

Digital short-period seismometer ZET 7156-VER.1 is intended for integration into automated monitoring, control and surveillance systems.

ZET 7156-VER.1 digital short-period seismometer (geophone) is used within automated estructural health moniotoring systems as well as for control of constructions natural vibration frequencies and corresponding logarithmic damping decrements. ZET 7156-VER.1 digital short-period seismometer can also be used within leak control systems for section vibration control monitoring allowing to prevent false system alarm.

Digital short-period seismometers ZET 7156-VER.1 are connected sequentially within the measuring network and the resulting measuring structure is connected to the PC via ZET 7174 interface converter (CAN ↔ USB), ZET 7176 (CAN ↔ Ethernet or Wi-Fi). The measurement network can also be supplemented with GSM ZET 7177 digital data transfer modules (CAN ↔ GSM) in the case if Ethernet connection is unavailable or when it is necessary to establish wireless backup data transfer channel.

ZET 7156-VER.1 digital short-period seismometers (geophones) have two four-contact FQ14-4ZK-S ports for connection to the measuring network (mating connector is included into delivery scope).
The table below shows sensor and mating connector contact points designation for connection to the measuring network.

All necessary settings of digital sensors are stored in the measuring module memory, which is integrated into ZET 7156-VER.1 digital short-period seismometer. For changing settings of the digital seismic meter (for instance, when establishing measuring network it is necessary to set device address), one should connect the device to the PC using interface converter and start “Device manager” program.
The-software-tabOne can also adjust “Data refresh rate” parameter within the range from 50 to 1000 Hz.

Metrological self-monitoring

Digital short-period seismometer ZET 7156-VER.1 (geophone) has integrated metrological diagnostic self-monitoring function — the sensor serviceability auto-check during operation. Based on metrological self-monitoring positive results, it is possible to increase inter-verification interval without implementing standard verification procedure.

For metrological self-monitoring of ZETSENSOR digital transducers in automated mode, special software has been developed.

“Self-check ZET 7XXX” main window is shown in the figure. On “Self-check” tab, user can select type of device, type of test, measurement process control and get the self-check results.

Device type is selected from the dropdown list. To select the device type you have to left-click the element, and to select the required device to be checked from the pop-up list.

Selector is used to choose the test. To change test number you have to click mouse left button on the number, and set the required value with the scroll wheel. If self-check is run, selector remains inactive till the moment the user stops the project operation or till the self-check procedure is finished.
There is a button to activate and stop the measurements. During diagnostics the button is green, and grey when stopped.

Indicator serves as a timer showing how much time is left before the current test is finished. It takes the count after any test is begun. Test results are shown in the log.
