PURPOSE

of digital inclinometer ZET 7054

ZET 7054 digital inclinometer is used in static systems to sustain platform position (biaxial mode). Low supply voltage, MODBUS protocol application – all this enables embedding of ZET 7054 inclinometer in almost any industrial system. The “Set zero position” function allows to set transducer to zero on each of the axes, and thus, to prevent the platform critical inclination along the coordinate specified.

Main fields of ZET 7054 digital inclinometers application:

  • bearing structures tilt and bending monitoring within the scope of automated Structural health monitoring systems;
  • providing stable position, alignment of platforms;
  • in robotics;
  • measuring position and movement parameters for emergency notifications (in case the object position changes critically);
  • security systems;
  • navigation.

OPERATING PRINCIPLES

of digital inclinometer ZET 7054

Digital inclinometer ZET 7054 is a measuring module with integrated primary transducer. High-accuracy ZET 7054 inclinometer can be used both in mono-axial and biaxial mode.

Inclinometer output data (measurement results):

  • calibrated acceleration magnitudes,
  • precise parameters of tilt angles,
  • inner temperature,
  • tension magnitude,
  • emergency and error notification signals.
Digital inclinometer operation principle

The selected tilt measurement range for inclinometer measuring axes is only provided if zero magnitudes for both measuring axes of inclinometer correspond to its horizontal position.

Try to provide primary horizontal installation of inclinometer, following the direction of measuring axes shown on the casing; ensure the required azimuth orientation of inclinometer.

Inclinometer (for anchoring purpose, the casing is equipped with four holes 4.5 mm in diameter at the corners of the casing) can be installed directly on the contrlled surface, using clamping elements – bolts, dowel pins, etc. To ensure possibility of inclinometer azimuth and horizon adjustment, inclinometer should be installed using regulator platform.

In the corners, regulator platform has four holes 5.5 mm in diameter for anchoring onto the surface controlled.

ZET 7054 inclinometers are installed on vertical walls using 100×63×6 angle plate.

The sensors mounted on the controlled object surface are connected to data acquisition and processing nodes (i.e. to the electrical cabinet with interface and addtional modules).

ZETLAB electrical cabinet has compact dimensions if compared to available analogs. ZETSENSOR modules advantages are as follows: they are easy to install and to dismount, they have power indication and data transfer option, which considerably simplifies on-site system diagnostics.

To establish instrument communications network using digital transducer, you will need interface converters to connect transducers to computer with ZETSENSOR software. The software automatically detects all inclinometers within the network, performs system check and notifies the user about transducers failure, if there is any. In addition to standard start-up functions, the software displays all changes made by the system on the screen, which allows on-time prevention of critical deviations from the set parameters, and use of data obtained for further engineering design.

Up to 60 digital inclinometers can be connected to a single interface module.

It is essential to use interface converters not only for PC connection, they can also ensure arrangement of instrument communications nets that are located at a considerable distance from operator’s workstation, due to possibility of data transmission via Ethernet.

CONTROL

  • Conversion frequency — frequency with which the transducer records data: 1, 10, 100 or 500 Hz.
  • Exponential moving average — number of average readings: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256.
  • X Offset — calibration correction of the source data.
  • Y Offset — calibration correction of the source data.
