Training session
December 26-27, 2017
“Modern international methods of measurements quality evaluation”
Dear Colleagues,
LLC “ETMS” hereby invites you to take part in the training session “Modern international methods of measurements quality evaluation”.
Discussion leaders:
- Director for Standardization of JSC “Research-and-development center of engineering systems” from Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, Executive Secretary of Technical Committee ISO/TC 108 (International Organization for Standardization) – Shaynyak Igor;
- CEO of LLC “ETMS”, Technical Committee ISO/TC 108/SC 6 (International Organization for Standardization) workgroup Expert, Ph. D. in Technical Sciences – Feizkhanov Usman.
Nowadays there is a tendency to pay more attention to calibration of the measuring instruments. The experience shows that the calibration of measuring instruments is of crucial importance for high-quality measurements and reliable measurements results. Unlike the calibration, the verification process simply confirms operability of the measuring instruments and acceptable level of measurements error at the moment of verification procedure completion without any warranties in terms of the inter-verification interval. Currently, in Russia there occurs a drastic development of calibration systems (the most well-known of them is the Russian Calibration System created under control of Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology).
The requirements for calibration of measuring instruments are more strict than those for the verification, which implies higher labor input and financial costs. However, the main advantage of this procedure is the fact that it is possible to perform calibration of any instruments, including those beyond the scope of state control for uniformity of measurements of the Russian Federation.
After having secured their positions in the national market, many Russian manufacturers of modern measurement instruments tend to promote their products abroad. Among the first issues that they face one should mention the problem of non-conformance of the national verification procedure to the standards of international calibration.
In order to avoid such situations in the future, it is necessary to develop a system of calibration process implementation, which would comply with universal requirements, brought in accord with international standards and norms.
Based on the above, in the training session, there will be considered such issues as:
- ISO/IEC Guide 98-1:2009 “Uncertainty of measurement – Part 1: Introduction to the expression of uncertainty in measurement” – basic notions, interpretation and the measurement unit evaluation methods (effective as of Jan 1, 2018).
- Mathematical methods of metrological self-check for intelligent sensors and measurement systems as a way to guarantee metrological operability of the measuring instrument throughout its useful lifetime.
Participation in the training session will allow you to get an understanding of your colleagues’ experience, share your own ideas and to extend your business contacts.
The training session will be conducted on the premises of LLC “ETMS” at the address: Russia, 124498, Moscow, Zelenograd, travel 4922, 4, p. 5
Cost of participation: 110 USD per one training day (8 hours)
It is possible to apply for participation until December 15, 2017.
