OPC Protocol

The “Service operations with ZET 7xxx” (SensorWork) program provides an opportunity of operation in OPC server mode. With this mode enabled, the program generates a tag tree based on the devices found in the measuring line and refreshes each tag value once every second. By default, the tag tree is generated using only the measured variable current value registries. If required, the program can be configured to read other registers from a digital sensor with subsequent writing to the relevant OPC server tag.

To enable the OPC server mode, check the interface converter IDs which must run in this mode. In the “Work with OPC” section of the “Actions” menu in the “Service operations with ZET 7xxx” window, select “Launch OPC server” (see Figure 1); the program will generate the OPC tag tree and start reading the required registers from the sensors. The OPC operation running process will be displayed in the “Work with OPC server” window (Figure 2).

Note

AFTER FIRST ACTIVATION OF THE MODE, OPC SERVER CONFIGURATION WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE GENERATED FOR FURTHER USE IN THIS MODE. IN THIS CASE, EVEN IF ANY TRANSDUCER OR DIGITAL SENSOR IS ABSENT IN THE SYSTEM, THE PROGRAM WILL GENERATE A TAG FOR IT, BUT THE TAG QUALITY WILL BE POOR, I.E. IT WILL BE A TAG WITH UNRELIABLE DATA. IF REQUIRED, THE SAVED OPC SERVER CONFIGURATION CAN BE CUSTOMISED FOR SPECIFIC SYSTEM NEEDS.
