Spectral density as a vibration test parameter


How can one define the necessary shaker system parameters in accordance with the specified broadband random vibration spectral density?


Spectral density value is used for estimation of the required acceleration and frequency range value. Frequency range normally corresponds to the interval of 10 – 2000 Hz – this range can be used for almost every shaker system (vibration exciter) model. Total acceleration for the broadband random vibration tests is specified as the RMS value. In the case, if the manufacturer has not specified the particular top limit for broadband random vibration acceleration, one can use 50% value from the total acceleration maximal value.

To calculate total acceleration value using spectral density parameter, one should calculate figure area below the diagram and root the value obtained.
